Shaft Miner - Appin

This is your opportunity to join the Redpath team at the Appin shaft project located in Menangle in Southern Sydney/Wollongong region, whereby Redpath are responsible for sinking two shafts at the Appin Coal Mine. The Appin Project has been set up using industry leading technology, and Redpath will continue these standards with excavation of two blind sink mine access/ventilation shafts.

We are seeking experienced Underground/Shaft miners, or construction workers to join the Shaft Sinking Division at our Appin Project in NSW.

Working a 14 days on 14 days off roster, FIFO from Capital Cities.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily pre-start inspections and complete required paperwork
• Assist the Winder Engine Driver and Crane Operator as needed
• Respond promptly to shaft communications and follow all instructions
• Coordinate with Shift Boss/Lead Miner to prepare equipment in the correct sequence
• Clean, inspect, store, and tag out faulty equipment; ensure items are ready for shaft lowering
• Manage materials and consumables to prevent delays and support general maintenance tasks
• Perform change-outs (kibbles/man cage), maintain bog out pit and waste chute, and uphold strong housekeeping standards

Qualifications and Experience

• Ideally you will have some Trades exposure working in the resource sector, some high risk tickets and come from a mining or construction background
• Current valid manual Australian drivers licence required
• Working Safely at Heights
• Current First Aid and CPR Certificate
• Dogman's and Basic Rigging ticket
• White Card
• Dangerous goods ticket
• Willingness to complete a National Police Clearance and Pre-Employment Medical
